Brotherhood's Relief and Compensation Fund
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit
| AD&D Plan Summary |
About this Benefit |
|||||
|
Accidents are the leading cause of death for people under
age 40. Overall, accidents rank fifth as the cause of death for people of
any age. In addition, many people are seriously injured by accidents and
sustain loss of limb or eyesight.
For this reason, The Brotherhood's Relief and Compensation Fund has purchased an insurance plan which provides Accidental Death and Dismemberment protection (except as limited by the Exclusions) to all active, dues paying members while on active railroad duty only. This accidental death and dismemberment benefit was first introduced on December 1, 1999. Benefits will be paid for covered losses, described in the Plan Summary, sustained within 365 days of the date of an accident. |
