Mr. Mayle is a native of Southern California where he currently resides with his wife Sherry.
Ken is a second-generation locomotive engineer and has been working on the BNSF Railroad (formerly Santa Fe) for the past 40 years. In 1970, he hired out as a locomotive fireman and was soon promoted to locomotive engineer.
Following in his late father's footsteps, Ken joined the Brotherhood's Relief and Compensation Fund in 1970, and is the Terminal President of terminal 528, San Bernardino, CA.
Ken is a longstanding active member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Union.
Ken was originally appointed to the Board of Directors of BR&CF in 1996 and for the past 14 years has served as an elected Director. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Railway Foundation. In 2010, Ken was appointed and now serves as the Assistant International President.
Earlier in his career, Ken had the privilege and opportunity to learn to operate the rebuilt Santa Fe steam locomotive 3751. One of the highlights of his career was taking the locomotive on an excursion.
In his leisure time, Ken enjoys photography, golf, playing the stock market, computers and hiking. Ken and Sherry enjoy traveling, taking cruises and entertaining. Ken enjoyes spending time with his three adult children, Timo, Michelle and Ryan.
Ken looks forward to serving his term on the BR&CF Board of Directors and continuing to serve the members of the BR&CF. His goal is to maintian the Fund as the number one job income protection organization in North America.
