Dear BR&CF Member:
As international president of the BR&CF, I am personally reaching out to you to alleviate any concerns you may have regarding the operational status of the Fund. I assure you the organization is fully operational and the BR&CF staff is committed to serving you and the entire membership of this Brotherhood.
Like many of you throughout the U.S. and Canada, the BR&CF is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact. My heart goes out to all who have been affected. The health, safety and well-being of our staff, the BR&CF membership, and those in our communities is of the utmost importance.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommended social distancing as a mitigation strategy to slow the spread of COVID-19. On Thursday, March 12th, the BR&CF in-house officers heeded the CDC’s advice and determined it was prudent to transition our operation to a remote environment for the health and safety of our staff. The transition required additional hardware, software installation, beta testing, operational adjustments, and a temporary mailing address which is displayed at our website.
I’m pleased to report the transition to a remote environment was completed Monday, March 16th, with no disruption in service to the membership. I do not anticipate a disruption in service moving forward nor do I anticipate diminished service to the membership at any level. In fact, advances in computer programming, recent modifications to electronic forms, and procedural changes implemented thus far has increased efficiencies while operating in a remote environment.
In closing, I wish you and your loved ones’ health and wellness during this difficult time.
Sincerely and fraternally yours,
Jesse E. Taylor
